Cameron Mauberret

How did you get to Telluride? A lot of phenomenal people made it happen. When I was 17, I packed a suitcase and moved from New Orleans to Telluride solo for my senior year of high school. Luckily, I have some amazing people in my life that helped make that happen. I graduated from Telluride High School and decided traditional college wasn’t for me. I’ve been here ever since.

What’s your astrological sign? Pisces all the way. Intuitive, creative, maybe a little too sensitive.

What brings you the most joy? Good music and being alone in nature, preferably both at the same time.

Who or what influences your teaching style? My teaching style is still in the early stages of development. I am working with great teachers to help build a strong foundation. I am grateful to Jess Fertig and the Telluride yoga community for allowing me the space and time to expand and find out who I am as a teacher.

How do you apply practice to your life? I practice every day in everything I do. There is no finish line or graduation. Through yoga, skiing, and sobriety, I’ve learned to accept that life is not a line from start to finish. I grew up fast, so I am practicing being more childlike by asking for help, going with the flow, and not taking myself too seriously.
About Cameron: I have been intrigued with all things eastern for as long as I can remember. Philosophy, spirituality, and meditation have always been a part of my life. I first started practicing yoga in my early teens and finished my teacher training when I was 18. My yoga practice reflects my life. I’m a naturally reserved person and believe that talking opens the door, but silence gets you through.
